CLINIC
A medical dispensary has now been built in order to provide basic medical needs to community members, free of charge. The dispensary also conducts health education programs and has services to promote prevention of diseases such as malaria, cholera, tuberculosis, and Aids.
The large, comfortable mud hut dispensary is made from local materials and modeled after a traditional manyatta, yet safe and sterile for medical care. The clinic operates with solar lighting and power and patients can receive traditional Samburu medical care, modern Western medical treatments and medicines, alternative medicinal treatments, or a combination, depending on patient preferences. Patients can choose their preferred medical care:
- Traditional Samburu treatments
- Western medicine
- Alternative medicinal treatments
- Traditional medicinal herbs and plants or Western medicines
