(Looking for Cows: a Gift of Hope? Click here!)

Help us to save the Samburu Maasai tribe and culture by purchasing this collection of one-of-a-kind songs, performed by the Samburu Women's Choir of Lerata at the foot of sacred Mount O'lolokwe! These are the only recordings of traditional Samburu Maasai songs ever taken, and they will be used for precious historical archiving as well as funds for the tribe's survival.

Sukolioitin oing'ua O'lolokwe (Songs from O'lolokwe) was recorded in Northeastern Kenya, in May, 2010, by the Lion Conservation Fund (http://lionconservatoinfund.org). In 2009, Kenyan police forcibly took over 6000 cattle from innocent Samburu, including widows and orphans, driving them into famine during the century’s worst drought. Samburu East residents remain destitute and in a state of famine. We have launched this CD, of which 100% of the proceeds will go directly to feeding families, rebuilding community, and preserving culture.
